My Chris had a phobia of creepy crawlies and in particular, snakes. One of our holidays was to Barbados and as it was rather hot during the day, all the guests would go into the sea to cool off and chat. On one particular day someone shouted “I’ve just seen a sea snake!”. Well, I have not seen such a quick exodus from the water as I did that day. Chris was the first out, followed by the rest. She never went into the sea again that holiday. The good side of that holiday was that I got to see and hold a baby turtle which had not made it into the water after just hatching (a warden had rescued it that morning).
