A Crabby Holiday in Wales

Created by Gavin 8 years ago
As a kid I remember a couple of fun holidays in a flat near Porthcawl. There wasn't much of a beach, but there were some great formations with rockpools that were amazing for collecting crabs and other small sea creatures. Of course, as a young boy, I avidly collected a number of crabs and shrimp in my bucket and brought them back to the flat one night. In the morning, I was awoken by a scream. Mum was standing on a chair and screaming in great cartoon fashion, at a mouse hole in the wall of the flat. Dad and I cautiously approached and with the light switched on, could see that one of the crabs had escaped from the bucket in the kitchen and made its way into my parents bedroom and settled against the skirting board. The crabs had obviously been hungry too as the shrimp had all jumped out of the bucket and lay around the kitchen floor.
